6.4% sales growth for Bell in Q2

Bell Canada's quarterly net income increased by 149.7% year-on-year to CAD734 million (USD584 million) in Q2 2021, on consolidated revenue growth of 6.4% to CAD5.698 billion. Adjusted EBITDA rose 6.2% y-o-y in April-June to CAD2.476 billion. The operator highlighted 115,916 total wireless mobile phone and mobile connected device, retail internet and IPTV net additions in the three-month period, up 75% y-o-y. Bell reported 44,433 post-paid mobile phone net additions in Q2, with retail fibre internet net additions up 80% y-o-y to 27,112. It expects to expand its broadband networks to cover 900,000 new fibre and high speed fixed-wireless premises in 2021, whilst aiming for 70% 5G mobile network coverage by the year's end.
