Cogeco continues Ontario high speed broadband expansion with federal support

Canadian cableco Cogeco Connexion disclosed that it is expanding high speed internet to over 8,000 homes and businesses in the Ontarian communities of Arnprior, Chalk River, Deep River, Mountain View, Beachburg, Cobden and Glasgow Station, with a project investment of CAD10 million (USD7.6 million) including CAD 2 million contributed by the government via the Connect To Innovate funding programme. Cogeco notes that over the past few years it has invested heavily in its fibre/cable broadband network from Gaspe in Quebec to Windsor in Ontario, and currently serves more than 400 communities outside major centres in several regions of the two provinces.
