Cogeco meeting need for speed with DOCSIS 3.1 rollout commitment

Canadian cableco Cogeco has confirmed in a press release that it will continue its DOCSIS 3.1 network enhancement program over the next three years, enabling the progressive roll out of its gigabit broadband services in Ontario and Quebec. Cogeco stated: 'This program complements the expansion and upgrade projects carried out in recent months. Cogeco Connexion will continue to augment its node segmentation efforts and drive fibre deeper into its access network. Thanks to investments in its powerful hybrid network running from Windsor, Ontario to Gaspe, Quebec, Cogeco Connexion will continue to enhance its high speed Internet offering … for its business and residential customers.' Daniel Boisvert, Vice President, Marketing & Innovation, Cogeco Connexion, added: 'Given the exponential increase in online entertainment usage, the multiplication of connected units and growing home office broadband needs, our residential and business Internet customers' appetite for speed is definitely trending upward.
