Telus acquires local telco Raftview Communications

Canadian major telco Telus Communications has purchased Raftview Communications, a local cable TV and telecoms network operator in Clearwater and Barriere in the province of British Columbia. Paul Caissie, the owner of Raftview, which has been in business for 30 years, said of the takeover: 'We feel the time is right to transition our business for the benefit of our valued customers. The acquisition of Raftview will enable us to enhance reliability and provide exceptional network capacity for local residents and businesses for generations to come.' Caissie added that Telus would operate Raftview as part of its Mascon cable-based division, whilst prices and billing for existing customers would remain unchanged for the time being.
