TNW Wireless acquired by United American Corp

Florida, US-based development and management company United American Corp has agreed to purchase Canada's TNW Wireless from Investel Capital Corporation Canada. TNW Wireless is licensed as a wholesale and retail wireless carrier in the Northwest of Canada, where it holds 25MHz of 'tier-2' 850MHz band spectrum licences, and also owns proprietary 'iPCS Smartphone-over-IP' technology.

The announcement noted that TNW Wireless has requested that the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) compel national operators Bell and Telus to provide mandated wireless roaming agreements to allow TNW Wireless to offer national service coverage. With the CRTC ruling in favour of TNW Wireless on this request in its decision 2019-56 issued on 28 February 2019 and with the Commission further reconfirming that TNW Wireless is eligible to operate as a wireless carrier in Canada, all conditions for the acquisition have been met, the announcement continued. The deal is subject to final regulatory approval.
