Little Britain gets Rogered

Major Canadian cableco and mobile operator Rogers Communications has completed the takeover of small independent internet provider Ruralwave, based in Little Britain, eastern Ontario. Ruralwave serves the townships of Brock, Ramara, Scugog, the City of Kawartha Lakes and the Municipality of Clarington, with 2,400 customers using fibre/HFC and fixed-wireless access. Rogers' press release added: 'Over the coming months, the companies will work together to identify opportunities to offer local customers additional internet and entertainment services, including Rogers leading IPTV service, Ignite TV. Rogers is committed to helping Ruralwave on its home expansion plans to connect even more neighbourhoods now, and in the future.'
